Spend the rest of your day at leisure using your included trolley pass to see some of the major sights. Perhaps, visit the spring that Ponce de Leon deemed the Fountain of Youth. Experience early St. Augustine as you tour old St. Augustine Village. Other stops could include the Old Jail, History Museum, Potter's Wax Museum, San Sebastian Winery and Flagler College. Tonight, celebrate your arrival to St. Augustine with dinner<br /><b>Overnight: </b>St. Augustine<br /><b>Meals: </b>Breakfast, Dinner</p> <p class="itin-odd"><span class="itinhead">DAY 3, Sunday - Jekyll Island, Continue to Savannah</span><br />Depart St. Augustine and travel north along the unspoiled Georgia coast to Jekyll Island, situated in the midst of Georgia's fabled "Golden Isles". The island is famous for its Jekyll Island Club, where some of America's elite families vacationed. Take a narrated tram tour of Jekyll Island's Historic District and hear more about the stories of the island's beginnings and development of the late 1800s. Highlights include such landmarks as Forsyth Park, River Street, the Waving Girl statue, the Cotton Exchange and Colonial Park. After lunch on your own, take a guided tour of the city by horse-drawn carriage. Pass the beautifully restored historic mansions built by the wealthy plantation owners before the Civil War. Beaufort was one of the Southern towns chosen to be occupied by Union troops, rather than destroyed. Depart for Charleston, known for its warm Southern hospitality. The rest of the day is at leisure. Don't miss the <i>optional</i> tour to a working plantation, Boone Hall, where you'll hear about the day-to-day life of those who ran the plantation as well as their history.
